Confidentiality

How we protect your business's financial information during an engagement.

Our commitment

Your books contain some of the most sensitive information about your business: revenue, expenses, payroll, and banking activity. Confidentiality and security are not features of our service; they are the foundation of it.

Secure software access

We connect to your accounting software and bank accounts through secure, reputable platforms with appropriately scoped permissions, read-only where possible. We never ask for or store your banking passwords, and we never share your login credentials.

Least-privilege access

Access to your financial data is limited to the bookkeeper and reviewer assigned to your account. No one else at Tapestry, and no one outside it, can see your books.

Confidentiality agreements

We are happy to sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement before any engagement. All of our service agreements include confidentiality commitments that survive the end of the engagement.

How your data is used

Your financial data is used only to deliver your bookkeeping service and communications about it. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties except service providers bound by confidentiality (such as accounting software) or as required by law.

Offboarding

If you ever leave, your software accounts remain yours. We revoke our access promptly, return any documents and reports you request, and delete or retain data according to your instructions and our legal retention obligations.

Information retention

Information collected during an engagement is retained only as needed to provide the service and as required by law or professional obligations. You may request deletion of inquiry information where we are not required to retain it.
